BSNL reduces mobile call rates by up to 80% for its customers

In a recent announcement state-run BSNL has decided to extend its scheme for giving 80 percent reduction in mobile call rates with effect from 16 January 2016.

Initially this scheme was launched for its new prepaid customers only, and now BSNL has decided to extent the same to its existing mobile customers also.

"Earlier, BSNL had reduced call rate by up to 80 percent for its new prepaid mobile customers only and now the same has been extended for existing prepaid users also," the company said in a statement.

Reduction of call rates is applicable on both per minute and per second billing plans.

"Our tariffs are most competitive in the industry having largest network coverage. Two new special tariff vouchers (STV) have also been introduced," BSNL board director (consumer mobility), R K Mittal said.

BSNL is working quite hard to improve quality in its services and add more customers to their account.

Like other mobile operators across the country BSNL has shown positive numbers in mobile number portability (MNP) with 33406 between July 2015 to November 2015.

By the end of September 2015, BSNL mobile customer base reach up-to 7.96 crores and the company was figured among top 5 players in terms of new subscriber addition during the month.
